The Cape Cod outdoor wall light is a wonderful Onion Lantern of an American New England style. It’s a unique piece that has a definite nautical theme, reminiscent of the lanterns used by Shipping and Railroad Companies of the 1800’s. The origin of Onion Lanterns is from Whaling Ships of the colonial era and this recreation takes you back to that time.
This lantern would look particularly well over a decking area, keeping in with the maritime theme. It would make an excellent welcome at an entrance way, a nice feature in a workshop or other outbuildings.
The fixture is made from solid brass and finished in a wonderful Sienna Bronze colour.
